Dish and Dessert

Dish
Last Saturday, we brought kids to have fun in the shopping mall indoor playground. After spending about 2 hours in there, we went to McD for the the Mc Value Lunch at RM5.95. There, we had 4 packs of french fries that we could only finish 2 of them. I read from Nanncy Mummy before. The left over fries could be used to cook with fried eggs. So, I kept the left over fries in refrigerator when returned home.
On Sunday, I took out the fries and cut them into about 10 to 15 cm in length.
Beat 4 eggs and add a pinch of salt to taste. Heat up oil in wok, pour in the fries and follow by eggs. Turn the mixture to another side until the fried eggs were cooked.
Tadaaaa... French fries omelette.
Dessert
I had a sudden thought to make Milo Jelly. I had almost all the ingredients except Milo. After sending April to her UCMAS class, I went to buy Milo with May.
Ingredients:
5 table spoons of Milo
5 Pandan leaves, knotted
12 gram of jelly in straps
200 gram of rock sugar, but I replaced it with brown sugar.
250 litre water
Boil everything in a pot until the ingredients mixed well and melted.
Remove from fire and pour the mixture into containers. Store the jelly in refrigerator when it cold.

Holiday classes for kids

April has no long school holidays like other children, as I registered April and also May for one month holiday courses. The course started right away when other children were celebrating the last day in school for year 2009. That means April only have 12 days of holidays in December, where as for May, she went to the same nursery with her jie jie on Monday. Although, May has gone to the I-Maths class on weekly basis, this could consider as the first and also more formal school day for her.
Monday morning was quite cold, I let them wear the same design of sweaters to school. May didn't show any sign of refusal to school like April last time. On the other hand, she was looking forwards to go to school.
I went to fetch them back from school on Tuesday noon. They wore the same design of leggings, that I bought at KL. They wear slippers to school, as they must remove shoes before stepping up the stair.
Wednesday, I didn't take any photo of them, but they wore their very favourite dresses to school.
They do not need to wear uniform to school, and thus make me crack my head every day to plan what I need to let them wear to school.

Steamed sweet potatoes

Sometime ago, my sister photostated a copy of slimming book for me. I haven't had time to read until last few weeks. There were many celebrities' diet tips found in the book. I personally attracted by Carina Lau Kar Ling's diet tips. She eats sweet potatoes everyday to substitute the rice. I am a person who can live without rice. Besides, I also like desserts which have sweet potatoes one.

When I went to the Friday pasar malam to get my weekends cooking ingredients, I saw a lot of Japanese sweet potatoes being sold in the stall. Carina's diet tips suddenly strike my mind. I quickly get some of them. So many of them only cost RM1. Damn cheap.
The skin is purple and the flesh is yellow. The taste is so sweet. I ate the steamed sweet potatoes for my lunch. The outcome was I went to poo twice on the next day. I quickly weighed myself after the 2 rounds of toilet visits, and I couldn't believe it at all, I lost the stubborn 1kg. I think I have to buy more sweet potatoes on this coming Friday.

Sinful lunches

I am going out for lunch with my colleagues most of the time. Ever since, we fell in love with the lui char fun (Thunder Tea Rice, a type of Hakka Cuisine). We make it a point to go having it at least once everyweek.
The ''thunder'' possibly is the din created during the cutting, pounding and grinding of tea leaves, vegetables and nuts that go into the making of this extraordinary dish. This day, the boss of the stall even told us that there were also spicy flavour one. Oh my! Why didn't him tell me earlier? I like almost every thing in spicy one. We must go again for the spicy lui char fun next week. On the other hand, Yvonne was still in dilemma whether to eat the fried fish balls koey teow or the lui char fan. In order to make her feel more completed and get all her craves satisfied, I suggested to share the plate of fried koey teow with her, and we could have the lui char fan on our own. In fact, a bowl of lui char fan is more than enough for me who put diet as the lifetime mission. Thank God that this time I only ate the lui char and left the rice in the bowl at the end.
If we didn't order the fried koey teow to share, we also didn't want to go back to office with empty hands. We would go to the Pisang Goreng shop to buy the very famous deep fried jack fruit (cempedak), deep fried tapioca, mashed banana fritters (kuih kodok), deep fried sweet potatoes, deep fried yam, deep fried banana and etc.This day, our taste buds changed a bit. We didn't go the Pisang Goreng shop anymore, we went to the Nyonya Kuih stall. Again, Yvonne was craving for the Nyonya Kuih after watching too much of the Singapore TV series -Little Nyonya. She was getting herself really into Little Nyonya, until she was willing to break her record of the absenteeism from the yoga class.
After eating all these sinful delights, I know I have to do something about it. I changed into my newly bought yoga attire. Checking in the mirror for the excess flesh here and there; pack the yoga mat and a bottle of water, firm my mind up to burn more calories in the center. Wakakakaka! That's why I am forever on diet, because I never seems to achieve my ideal weight. T______T.

Scrambled Eggs With Tomatoes

My whole family are egg lover. I have tried cooking different types of omelette. This time I tried to make scrambled eggs with tomatoes. I just read a junk email. It stated that tomatoes can reduce the risk of getting breast cancer. I think I should try to add tomatoes in my daily intakes, be it in juice or cooking.

Ingredients:
4 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon seasoned pepper
2 tablespoons butter
5 small ripe tomato, chopped Preparation: In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together until well blended. Put the chopped tomatoes into the egg mixture and mix everything together. Melt butter in skillet over medium-low heat until hot;pour in egg mixture.
Reduce heat. As mixture begins to set on bottom and sides of skillet, lift and fold over with spatula. Cook until eggs are almost set.
Heat scrambled eggs through; serve immediately.

Shopaholic in KL

I had written about What I did and what I ate for the entire 5days and 4nights in the earlier entries. I hope that you are still here with me. In fact, I wanted to write about the shopping first. But then, I need some time to lay out all the items, so that I am able to publish here today.

1st, after the sun bathing in Sunway Lagoon, I got this Free Of Charge to bring back home. Waaaaaaaaa! I got sun burned at my back, shoulder and hands. The first shower when I returned home was so aching. The burning sensation lasted me for the subsequent 2 days. Until today, my skin is still peeling off and it is so itchy. T____T. Blame it on not applying sun tan lotion because of the thought that there wasn't much sun light after the last night rain. No sun light, but got sun burned, how come ah?Yvonne was helping me to take a picture of my back, which has so severe skin peeling right now. Look at how contrast the skin tone between my swim wear straps and the area that exposed to sun.
2nd. First $$ was spent on Bodyshop Shower Gel and the Lip Balm at the road shop held on Sunday Flea Market at the Curve. I was impressed to see many stalls at the flea Market at the Curve grond floor.
The normal price for the shower gel is RM28 and the lip balm is RM18. This purchase was meant for my dearest colleagues who helped covering the job for me, when I was away from the office.
Total RM40 (each RM10 only).

3rd. We didn't buy any toy for the girls at Toy R Us, except the 2 in 1 tabletop easel.
The girls had started to scrap on the whiteboard while they were still in the hotel.

7th. Children wear, 2 Next T-shirts(RM33 buy 1 free 1), 2 leggings from Lady Bird (RM29.90, buy 1 free 1), and 2 red and black strap leggings (RM 15 each).
Total is RM92.80.

8th. MJ's Live in Bucharest DVD from CD Rama in Popular. I was triggered to buy this after watching This Is It alone the day before I came to KL. Besides, I could still hear MJ's songs playing non stop at the ground floor car fair at Sunway Pyramid.RM 42.

9th. Surf pants from Chic Avenue at Jaya Jusco. I didn't bring any pants which I could wear in the theme park. Hence, this came in time. RM19.

10th. I love this singlet from the flea market at the Curve. This type of singlet is my all time favourite. After wearing it out for some time, when the singlet has become looser and bigger, I will wear it as my sleep wear with my sexy boxer.

White and Pink are so sweet.

12th. Purple spaghetti from Kitschen. By looking at this PPL top, I know I need to work out harder from now on to tone up the body, so that I can look more lean when wearing it. (By the way, PPL stands for Pang Pua Leap in hokkein. I learned it from Su In)

13th. Long and flare yellow top from MYNT. The top should be worn with a tube or singlet inside.

14th. Geen V neck blouse from Nichi. This was my most expensive clothes that I bought in this trip.

15th. Cutlery sets, mugs, bottles and containers. The mugs from Sunway Lagoon, RM5.90 each. The Disney plates from World of Cartoon, RM15.90 each. The Disney cutlery sets from JJ, RM8.90 each pair. The bottle and container sets from JJ too, RM8.90 per set.

This was just once in a year time that we lived like a rich. That's why everyone loves holiday. Holiday is the time to just enjoy and relax only. The children do not need to worry of the homework. The parents do not need to worry of the housework and the office work.
After the holiday, we have to get back to the reality and work for the $$$ to earn for another holiday in future.

KL Restaurant Food 4

Day 5 - Breakfast
The only breakfast we took was on the last day of our stay in KL, as we needed to wake up slightly earlier to pack the luggage. We also needed to fill up the empty stomachs, before we went into to the theme park to use up the energy. The breakfast was at Zhia's Kitchen.
Hubb's fried rice. Hubb is a "RICE" person, and I am a "NOODLE + BISCUIT" person.
Hubb is not a good food photographer. He helped me to take the picture of char siew pau and the subsequent food below when they arrived, and I was still in the washroom with the girls.

Day 5 - Lunch.
This lunch was the last meal that we took in this KL trip. We had lunch at Canton-I.
Canton-I has so many type of biscuits that I really heart a lot. I ordered the Loh Poh Peng(biscuit for wife). My girls also like this biscuit too.
Hubb's HK Yin Yong milk.
Hubb also ordered the lettuce congee.
The girls saw me eating the wanton noodle soup in the morning at Zhia's Kitchen, and they wanted to have it for lunch. So, we ordered the dumpling noodle soup for them to share.
We also had the roasted pork (char siew) and roasted duck meat as the side dishes.
I am sorry that I don't know what this is called already. I ordered it for myself, but it tasted too sweet in the tomatoes gravy.
This was my dessert, which had lotus seeds, ginger and milk. The taste was a bit weird for me. I don't really like it.
