Permanent eyeliner

2 years shy of turning 40 years old lady, trying hard to delay aging. I am talking about myself. Other than working out in the gym few hours per week to tone up my body, taking vegetable and fruit juice religiously to stay healthy and hydrated, I am still finding ways to improve whatever I think I need to.

I have got my eyebrow embroided many years ago, and now I go an extra mile to get a tattoo on both the upper and lower parts of my eye, the place where we draw the eyeliner.

After spending 3 hours in the saloon, I walked out with two swollen and very painful eyes. I could hardly open my eyes a bit that evening. My two girls were terrified when seeing me. My husband went totally dump.

The above pictures were snapped after 1 weeks of very unbearable painful experience.

I am trying to comfort myself that I can save time drawing and rubbing the eyeliner in the morning, I can save $$$ from buying eyeliner, I can have no worry of smearing my eyeliner under hot sun, I have got the waterproof, sweatproof, and oil free permanent eyeliner. Please give a pat at my back for my courage.

Princess May is 5 years old today

Today is the last day to school before the school holiday start again. May's kindergarten is having a colouring contest today, so I decided to let her celebrate her birthday a day in advance at her kindergarten.
Guess, who is the girl on the cake? I wanted the baker to draw May's favourite cartoon character, but his drawing failed. Long hair, big eyes and thin face girl, she looks more like the Birthday girl now.

 The Birthday girl.
Birthday girl with all her boy friends in her class.
Birthday girl with all her girl friends in her class.
Her best buddies who sit at the same table with her.
Boys who are quite close to her.
One of her boy class mates gave her a present.
The Birthday girl with her presents. We wished her a happy birthday last night, before leaving her bedroom. She said "Thank You".

Being the second daughter, she is far easier to be taken care than her jie jie. Nevertheless, I love two of my princesses equally. They are my sunshine.

Happy Birthday, May. Mummy always loves you.

Something worth pondering

April has great improvement in her mid term Primary 1 exam in May. She scored flying colours in all subjects.

She showed no more careless mistake, and she performed thorough checking on all papers. All my sleep loss, pressure, heart ache which I have described here were all worth it.

I kept telling April that I don't mind her scoring lower than 90% or 80%, if the questions are really tough for her. I will really mind if she making careless mistake on simple questions.
April is overjoyed and excited over her own achievement this time. I am not forgetting to remind her to be humble and keep up her good work.

April also shared with me on how her other classmates doing in the exam. There was something that she mentioned got me into pondering. There is one boy (CTH) who, the top student in her class and also the whole form in the previous exam in March, scored only 90% in Moral paper this time. This surprised not only their Moral teacher, but many teachers. There was one question that everyone did correct, including those poor result students, but CTH did wrong.

The question was narrated in a picture of a dining table after meal. The subsequent action was given in 2 choices, (A) Going into living room and watching TV or  (B) Helping cleaning up the dining table. Obviously, CTH chose A. When their form teacher queried him about his choice, he answered  that he was instructed by his caregiver to go watching TV after meal, and he was not allowed to go into the dining room again.

Apparently, CTH is staying with his Aunt ( his father's sister) and Grandma. His parents are working at outstation. His Aunt and Grandma love CTH very much, as he is the only child in the house. His responsibility is only studying well and his leisure is only watching TV.

I stop  here, the rest I leave to you folks to ponder.

I have just started to let April brush and wash her own white shoes on weekends. I should reckon myself paying attention on moral values at home by loading my children with responsibility, or just being a lazy mum.

Angels' Notes 2

Recently, my little May who is going to celebrate her 5 years old Birthday next Friday, has started to scribble little notes to express her love to us.

Her jie jie, April was used to do this previously. Now, little May seems picking up this habit.
This one she handed to me last week.
This one she handed to me 2 days ago.

Every time, I received the notes, I would give her a peck and say "Thank You, I love you, May."
She would smile like an Angel.

Happy Wesak

Today is the Wesak Day, and it is also my 9th Chinese Lunar Wedding Anniversary. My wedding reception was held on Wesak day in year 2002. I have no plan for this evening, except going to the Buddhist temple to make donation.

However, my two princesses and I were taking part in the Wesak Street Parade on Sunday. This is the first time we represented the AMD Buddhist Society in the parade.

The weather was extremely good on Sunday evening. It was raining from 1pm to 6.30pm. The parade was started at 8pm. Though, we were touring the street for 2 hours, we didn't sweat even a little. The air was so cooling and clean after the big pour of 5 continuous hours in the noon.

There were about 10 Buddhist associations joining the parade.
Below were some of the decorated floats that I could capture before the parade started.

This was the float that we escorting that evening.
The young devotees.
April and May were so excited in the parade. They were so happy until they forget about the long distance walking, and I was happy also, as I could burn extra calories that evening.

Happy Anniversary to my husband.

Happy Wesak Holiday, folks.

The song for me

Here, the song they sang for me on 12am Mother's Day. The song was taught by May's Kindergarten teacher. April picked up the song the day before from her younger sister. It is cute to see them singing together with the action.

Happy Viewing.

A portrait of mother 2011

Very seldom I talk about my Little May's art work, as I always find Art is not in her field.

Last week, she told me her teacher let them draw a portrait of mother to pay tribute to mothers on Mother's Day. Her drawing was selected to be put up on the wall, and she was given a small token from her teacher for doing the portrait well. She asked me to go to her kindergarten to have a look at her drawing. She reminded me that her teacher would remove the drawing soon after the Mother's Day. I kept procrastinating paying her a visit in her kindergarten.

Yesterday, she again drew me the similar portrait at home. When she passed to me, I was really touched. I  apologized to her that I still couldn't find a time to go to her school to take a look at her drawing. I hope her teacher is still keeping her drawing.
When I took a closer look at the portrait of ME, I saw that I have long hair. Now I know she wants my hair long.

Me, "May, why you drew mummy having one tooth only?"
May, "That is your tongue."

I actually like the wording "Mother, I love you. " the most.

Mother's Day weekend 2011

Hey! Hey! I  have gone through a good Mother's Day weekend this year. In fact, I found last weekend are the best to be pen down, when compare to my Birthday in February or the 14 Feb Valentine's Day. Why I said so? May be because I had no expectation other than receiving cards and gifts that my daughters made in school. So, some of the things really came as a surprise.

Saturday, the eve of Mother's Day

2pm: MIL cooked and delivered Yee Mee soup to us for lunch. It tasted so good until it can beat the best Clay Pot Yee Mee in town.
Other than the Yee Mee soup, she also cooked us the red beans + black glutinous rice + dried longan dessert. Sweet soup dessert is always my favourite.
3.30pm: we took a nap.

6.00pm: I went for 1 hour Yoga session, kids were with Pa Pa at home.

8.00pm: Dinner, then I went for a facial.

12.00am: Daughters wished  me Happy Mother's Day, and sang me a song . Video will be uploaded in next post.
That's all for the eve of Mother's Day. I was actually having quite a good mood.

Sunday, the Mother's Day.

9.30am: Sending April for the table tennis training, and I myself going for 1.5 hours gym at the same place.

11.30am: Reaching home to prepare for lunch, but husband said no cooking. He wanted to bring us out for  lunch at LA Promise Cafe.

12.00pm: Going to the saloon for a hair cut and hair wash.

1.00pm: Husband picked me up from the saloon, together with my two princesses heading to LA Promise Cafe.
April ordered Chicken Chop in potatoes source (Fried chicken).
My husband ordered Spaghetti bolognese
Little May ordered Chicken Chop in potatoes source (grilled chicken).
I specially ordered a Banana Split for my princesses as dessert.

My two princesses chipped in RM2 each to buy me these 2 slices of cakes. The balance of the bill was all paid by Pa Pa of course.

I took a few bites of my husband's spaghetti bolognese, a few bites of my little May's chicken chop, a few
of bites of Banana Split, and a few bites of chocolate brownies and white forest blueberry cake. I was very satisfied and full already.

I have had a facial done on Saturday, and a hairdo done on Sunday to pamper myself as a mother. When I  complained a lot of my stiffed shoulder and sored neck, I didn't get a full body massage, but I get this Dermo Rub Liniment, which my beloved husband bought for me from pharmacy.
I am indeed having a very wonderful Mother's Day. Thanks to MIL, FIL, husband, my two princesses and all your wishes.

New passion in life

....is working out  in the gym.

Last time, I used to go to gym only when I gained weight.

Started in April, I went to gym 2 to 3 times a week, each time 1.5 hours to 2 hours. So, I call this my new passion.

Actually, a petite lady whom I met there gave me the inspiration, and now I have the motivation to go to gym more often.

She is a stay at home mom of 4 kids. She is 2 years younger than me. Her kids age from 11 (girl), 10 (girl), 4 (boy) and 1.5 (girl). She goes to gym every day. She told me even first day of CNY also, she was there. She spent 4 hours there in the morning, from 7.30am to 11.30am.

She spends 2 hours on the treadmill, and the rest of the hours on lifting weights. She has to change her sport attires once in between the session. You can imagine how much she sweats during the work out.
A mother of 4 is definitely not an easy task, and yet she can spare 4 hours per day in the gym. I really salute her will power and determination in working out.

During our conversation, she told me she enjoys food too. After the heavy workout, she would reward herself with food that she loves, like dessert and cakes. She also arranges her elder kids to go to extra activities and her younger kids to her PIL's place on certain days, so that she can go for a date with her husband, be it movie or dining. I really like how she arranges her time to do things that she enjoys, and thus lead to a very healthy lifestyle and happy marriage.

She indeed inspired me a lot, and I take her as my gym buddy now. If I am not working, I will  also go to the gym everyday like her.
This is the gym that I go at Chinese Recreation Club. Though it is quite run down, some treadmills and some Gintell machines are just newly invested. I just finished an hour of jogging on the treadmill on Friday evening.
Camwhoring in front of the mirror after twirling a hula hoop around the lower waist for 30 minutes. It was about 9pm, and no one there in the gym except me, but there were still many members at down stair court playing badminton.

I am now spending 2 hours in line dancing, 2 hours in yoga, and at least 3 hours in the gym every week. In average, I spend 1 hour to do exercise every day. I guess this exericse regime and my normal healthy diet are good enough for me to stay fit and healthy. This also explains why I have no time for another baby. Since my younger is already 5 years old, I am able to do things that I like. I am now in my comfort zone.

I love you most

My daughters have told me earlier that I would receive something from them on Friday. This Sunday is Mother's day, I should expect them bringing Mother's Day gift back from school.

True enough, April smilingly handed me one nicely wrapped apple and one paper photo frame when I picked her up from her school.
When I reached home, my little May too gave me this bag shape card . She said to me, "Mummy, this is for you." Her kindergarten teacher also taught her a song about mother, that she promised to sing to me tonight. I shall wait and listen.

April and May, thanks for the card and gifts, thanks for your kisses and hugs, thanks for the "I love you, mummy", and thanks for everything.

When you two have grown up and you may not remember all the things in your childhood, but please remember that I love you most.

For her butt only

One fine day, my husband rearranged and reorganized the room next to the kitchen to be his princesses' study room. He even told me that  he wanted to shop for a square stuffed material to cushion the butt study chair of his sweetie pie.
This gold colour one was the first he bought, but he found the material was too thin and the size was too small to cover the study chair. So, we are now using it to cushion the dining chair.
He went out again and he finally came back with this thicker and bigger purple colour one. He was so pleased that his sweetie pie can be more comfortable sitting on it, while doing her homework and revision for a continuous of few hours, especially now, the exam month.
I hope April know to be grateful to her pa pa, as he has poured so much love to her.

Here I would like to wish all mummies to have a wonderful Mother's Day this weekend.

For those who is going to celebrate Mother's day, I have a reminder for you here.
When you say "Happy Mother's Day" and  "I love you" to your mums, please do not forget to say "Thank You, and I love you too" to your dads.
