Talent can be cultivated

I told April that many uncles and aunties praise her for her nice drawings in mummy's blog. She just smiled.

Her papa heard our conversation. When we were out for piano class, he stayed at home and pasted all his princesses' art work on the wall.

These were all the most recent art work of April. Some were done in crayons, some were painted with water colours.
 When we were back, I asked her which one she likes best.
She said this one, which was painted with water colours.

I sent her to art class when she was only four, as I believe talent can be cultivated.

  3. I only knew how to do tonings at 12 years old and that was because I copied someone's Art piece. My Art teachers were morons! Blergh!

    Your investment to send her to Art class will reap success in her creativity for LIFE!!!!

  4. There is not necessary that she has to become designer or Graphic Artists in future but the 'Right & Left Brain' development will be well balanced and good!

    Ex-PM Lee Kuan Yew once told his cabinet that they need to be creative and innovative in their careers & duties in order to have excellent plans. Well, i guessed most of them had no basic Art sense from young, so getting a degree from Harvard would be useless if they are not innovative in contributing ideas.

    my result is always C and D and then my mum was so fed up and send me to art tuition when I was 15..
    then a star is born. lol....

  8. I can assure you that April is definitely talented! I send my boy to art classes too since he was 5 though he stopped 2 years in between but his artwork is nowhere near April's.

    My boy loves to draw, but he is too lazy to colour. Hope his art class will help him to improve in his colouring.

    1. i think during my days, water color is only for those in higher grades if not mistaken perhaps grade 5 above..

  17. i really like how she uses the tone in every details.. last time i only use solid colors never bother (or not even know about) to use tones.. hahaha!!
