Tomato pasta sauce

Every time when we had buffet in the hotel, my two daughters sure happy if it served pasta. They especially like pasta in tomato sauce. They could easily wallop 1 big plate of the tomato pasta.
Therefore, I decided to make my own tomato pasta sauce with all the above ingredients.
I got this Fettuccine at RM2.99 from Giant. It is a steal for a product of Italy.
Saute everything with my HCP. I bought this Silicon frying spatula from COSWAY at member price RM15, as I scared the normal frying spatula would scratch my HCP.
This is the most easy recipe of tomato pasta sauce for kids.
My two princesses said, "Mummy, it looks like the one we had outside. Next time, please cook this again, ok?"

Mummy grinned from ear to ear.

Tomato Pasta Sauce
Ingredients:
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 5 red onions (chopped)
  • 1 clove of garlic (crushed)
  • 6 tomatoes (cubed)
  • 500 ml traditional pasta sauce (Kimball)
  • Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Corn flour
  • Margarine or olive oil
Gently fry the red onion, onion and garlic on a low heat for a few minutes, in some olive oil/margarine.

Add the tomato cubes and cook for a further couple of minutes.

Add the rest of the ingredients, stir well, then cover the pan and leave to simmer for around 15 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly and blend you prefer a smooth sauce.
Serve over pasta.
I skip Basil and grated Parmesan, as my daughters don't like.

Tip

Add a variety of vegetables such as chopped potato, carrot and mushroom to the sauce. Blend/puree if preferred to hide the vegetables from fussy children, and use as above.

  31. So yummy! I always cook my own spaghetti too. For the price of 1 plate of spaghetti when we dine out, I can actually buy ingredients and feed my whole family already. Besides meat, mushroom and tomato, I like to add some carrot and celery for a more crunchy texture.

  32. Hi Yan, your pasta sauce look awesome. Look like your HCP is really value for money fully utilize. :)
