Yesterday night, I checked the gate, doors, and windows were all closed and locked. I retired to bed with my two girls at 10.30pm. I let my girls say good night to their Papa over the phone. Before I off the phone, I took a look at the screen to confirm the alarm bell icon was there at the top right corner.
I woke up once to pee in the middle of the night. It was raining and I felt cold. Almost immediately I dozed off with blanket covered up to my neck.
It was the morning sunlight waking me up. To my horror, the clock struck 7.10am. OMG! I overslept for an hour. My 8 years old needs to be at school before 7.20am.
Then only I heard loud BANG at my wooden door.
Every school day morning, my FIL will be here at 7.00am to pick up my 6 years old to her kindergarten.
I was so panic. I didn't know whether I should put on my bra or I should help brushing their teeth.
The worst thing was, I saw my next door neighbor and my opposite road neighbor standing at the fence watching me running here and there. Because of my FIL banging at my door so loud, the whole kampung now knows that I overslept.
7.20am, FIL sent my 8 years old to school. She was 10 minutes late to school today. Luckily it was a rainy morning, it gave her a good excuse for being late.
7.35am, FIL returned and picked up my 6 years old to school.
8.00am, Yan drove in a rally car racing to office.
So, please don't mess with me today.
p/s: I miss my alarm clock, thank God he is coming back tonight.

Oh what a very busy day you have there... hope things work out well with you though it didnt start right :)
ReplyDeleteOMG....looking at the time you woke up and the time ur girl needs to be at school. I can imagine how panicked you were at the time.
ReplyDeleteNext time don't speed lor...is more important you reach your destination safely because you know you are already late.
Aiyo-yo....next time need to set extra alarm clock:P I totally understand how panic you were this morning as I've been through that myself!
ReplyDeleteLike Ling said, drive carefully, no speeding.
Luckily you are in Taiping lah.. Kalau KL pulak... how to speed in the morning? Bumper to bumper traffic jam esp in front of school.
DeleteMight as well run saja. Maybe faster can reach office! LOL
wah...so super nice sleep till overselpt ah? LOL
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, her alarm clock wakes her up with batang kot!
Deletewakaka
joking only ye Yan. xD
Hmm...nearly 5pm...gues yoiu will F1 home soon :)
ReplyDeleteNo la, go home no need F1... yannie's children is in the morning class.
DeleteAh Hua, on the other hand, needs to F1 la, her daughter is in the afternoon class, going off at 6pm.
at least those in the afternoon class shall never worry about overslept.. :D
DeleteOversleeping happens to me too once a bluemoon. Do drive safely no matter how rushed you are. By the way, you are so blessed to have not only a mom in-law to cook meals for the amily but a dedicated dad in-law to fetch his grandchildren too. Treasure them like gold, Yan and you are indeed blessed.
ReplyDeleteMuahahahaha! Sorry but I can't stop laughing at your story. You told me this morning, I laughed and I laughed again while reading this.
ReplyDeletewhat you found so funny?? about Yan being so confused whether to put on her bra or to attend her kids and FIL?? :p
DeleteI also had a good laugh. She sounded like cartoon in panic! I will get heart attack like that.
DeleteYour FIL must be in fear for he had banged your door for 10 minutes and get no replies from you.
ReplyDeleteI guess his banging had managed to call up each and every of your neighbours but not you :p
How come you don't have a door bell that ding dong beside your bed?
DeleteYou didn't relate to your readers, how the company security guard close the main gate upon seeing your arrival, kekeke~
ReplyDeleteTambah the madness!
huh?? your company so strict one ah?? time struck for work and the gate is closed?? wow, like school only lah, hahaha!! :D
DeleteYalah... like school one.
DeleteIf close already then how? Kena denda kah? Ketuk ketampi? xD
I used to work for Texchem and they also closed the gates like school. Crazy!
Deletehmmm, sleeping so soundly until you didn't hear your alarm?? there are times i also suspect was it me or the alarm just didn't work..
ReplyDeleteand i think when we overslept, we are the most efficient person.. because we are all ready to leave the house in 10 minutes, hahahaha!!
Deletethat is why, a snooze alarm is always the best, you shall never missed it at all.. unless you turned off the snooze and go back to sleep, haha!!
Deleteyour FIL has been yelling outside for you for 10 minutes?? then of course he attracted all your neighbours (those gossip aunties and uncles) to try to see what was happening..
ReplyDeleteyour FIL must be so worry why there isn't any response after banging the door for so long.. and your neighbours may have thought you were chased after by the loan shark!! :D
Deleteso were you late for work today?? need to punch card or not?? i hope your sister prepared the breakfast for you today, haha~~
DeleteI think the FIL Looks at her like a spoilt DIL. I think the kids need to learn to use alarm clock too. I had to wake up myself when I was in primary school.
DeleteI can imagine that. My wife could be worse than you when it comes to late and rushing. But you are fast...you can get your girl ready in 10 min even though it is running late. Better drive carefully and not rushing lor, better to arrive safely :)
ReplyDeleteAsk a colleague or a friend to call you every morning...just in case.
ReplyDeleteSTP, what if that colleague also wake up late? Hehe, I think it happens to most people...
DeleteHmm, it was a nice morning to sleep a little late this morning...
ReplyDeleteDon't panic its OK to be late than never. Luckily you are not like my lady friend who forgot to wear her bra when in a rush for an appointment and luck was on her side able to buy a new pair along the way in dept store. Wah your timing really made us feel like retiring/working in Taiping with less than 15 mins turn around time for your FIL to fetch 2nd daughter.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I really hate the feeling when woke up late. Really got crazy by that rushing time. Just like dreaming and having a nightmare right?
ReplyDeleteSomehow, this post really gave me a shock. I'm worried too while reading...panic leh...
ReplyDeleteSo able to grab your bra?
hahahahah..this is so funny. being late is ok as long as you arrive at your office safely :)
ReplyDeleteha ha ha, one of those morning....lol!
ReplyDeleteIt happen sometimes this too me.
ReplyDeleteHahaha.. when 'my alarm clock' was away, i set 2 alarms!! :P Else, I will be in the same shoes as yours. Hahahha
ReplyDeleteHi Yan, sorry can't help stop laughing reading your post. So did you wear your bra to work? LOL
ReplyDeleteWith your FIL banging the door, so the whole kampong know you woke up late!! :)
Have a nice day. Don't panic again.
once a while lambat nvm la... I missed my alarm once too.. coz the phone went dead on me! my mum says, it's still best to get a clock! LOL!
ReplyDeletewow......like a mad race! Luckily you have FIL to sent the kids to school. Else, you will be late for work as well. haha
ReplyDeleteIt is better not to off your mobile phone. Just my opinion. In case emergency and somebody needs to contact you, they may do so. It will be very frustrated if someone wanted to call u and ended up, getting the voice-message on the mobile phone.
DeleteOh although you overslept but thumb up you can settle the girls so fast and lucky as your FIL help to send them. I use my phone as my alarm too. I even set another alarm which is 30 mins later.
ReplyDeleteYan,
ReplyDeleteIt's just one of those days. Im sure everyone has gone though them. At least you got your FIL to help out senting the kids to school.
your fil purposely banged the door loud to wake you up, is it? haha! poor thing..what a mess without your hubby around!
ReplyDeleteLuckily you do not have to send your girls to school. I scare to get up late too..my better half will fly the car..and horning almost all drivers who are in front of us..stressful and dangerous too..so I always set alarms on 2 phones just in case.
