Today is the fifth day of Chinese New Year 2013. I am back to work. So far, I have worn about 40% of my CNY clothes. In order to finish wearing them before CNY ends, I have to be hard working in changing clothes. So, I wore one new clothes in the morning and another new clothes in the evening.
Don't get me wrong here. I am not trying to show off the many new clothes that I have, because all my new clothes are cheap cheap one. None of them was from designer brand actually. In fact, most of them were 50% discounted items.
But then, I really proud of myself for another thing. I went to gym every day since CNY eve until yesterday. I spent around 1.5 hours there to sweat all the peanuts, cookies, desserts, cakes, chickens, prawns, fish, bak kwa and soft drinks out.
Now, I use a few pictures to recap my CNY 2013.
 |
| I need to credit to my husband for the CNY decor in my house. |
 |
| My two girls have grown up to be more helpful. They helped their grandma to stick red straps on fruits for prayer. |
 |
| My MIL could easily whip up 10 dishes for CNY eve reunion dinner. We are so blessed to have her. Yummy! |
 |
| My family portrait on CNY day 1. Spare the rod and spoil the children on CNY. |
 |
| I got a special Angpow from my husband this morning when I woke up. He said " 开工大吉". I thought he should say "情人节快乐". Anyway, thank you 老公, it is the thought that counts. |
Here I wish all my readers, Happy Valentine's Day. Cheers!
That's so sweet lol!!! Happy Valentine's Day!!! =]
ReplyDeleteYou find it sweet? Thanks 小影
DeleteAwwww sweet...Happy Chinese New Year Yannie!
ReplyDeleteThanks Genskie.
DeleteHappy Chinese New Year to you Yannie..
ReplyDeleteI been MIA for CNY...
you are so blessed to have a keng chow MIL..
Deletethis year I went out to have reunion dinner..
Mother already mogok.. don't want to cook..
I started to work yesterday but still in CNY mood..
DeleteI came back to KL on 2nd day of CNY..
go to my wife's family side...
SP you must have been soooo horrible until mother mogok!
DeleteMuahahaha, SP must be a gluttony pig until his mother mogok!
DeleteSP, my MIL enjoys cooking a lot. If she mogok one day, I may need to cook reunion dinner or eat out like you.
DeleteI didn't go for exercise at all during these few days..
ReplyDeleteI just eat and sleep.. and my tummy came out big big.. lol
Yeah I ate and ate and ate till water melon. Worry later lah.
DeleteI am already following annay's philosophy, "Eat now, worry later" :D
DeleteBut I don't think I had much for the past few days. I passed all my cookies to my parents and left 2 tins of kueh kapit and butter cookies only. The kueh kapit is still not opened and my son had the butter cookies most of the time. I requested my mom to cook as per normal day while my in-laws went to oversea for holidays.
I only drank 2 packets of kekwa drink .... yeah, that's all.
Cannot Anay, I can't worry later. I cannot bear seeing my weight increasing. So, I must go exercise and put my weight under control, at the same I am allowed to feast on food that I like.
DeleteHappy St. Valentine day to you and jin jin..
ReplyDeletehave a Grr grr grr day....
Thanks.
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day! Wow, you got ang pow from yr hubby. I didn't hv any.
ReplyDeleteYou can redeem yours anytime you like, right Wenn?
DeleteFirst time I hear ang pow given for valentines. New trend!
ReplyDeleteHehehe, me too. Jin Jin is so creative, practical and hassle free.
DeleteNo need to queue and fight for the over-expensive roses. No need to reserve and pay extra for the romantic dinner. No need to share places with the rest of the couples.
Pandainya~
I also first time getting angpow from him. lol!
DeleteIts the thought that counts guess Bananaz not a lady may not understand or feel the power of flowers. If I'm a lady would rather prefer the RM100 angpow than flowers more 'saat chai' as flowers will not last more than a week moreover at this time of year the flowers are sold at cut throat prices haha. Happy Valentine's Day
ReplyDeleteIf there is "like" button here, I will press "like" on this comment. Thanks Bananaz.
Deleteso nice of your hubby to give you an angpow :) I am still on holiday till Monday :D
ReplyDeleteBarb, enjoy it to the max. Don't hold back and be happy.
Deleteso nice lah, you have so many new clothes to wear during CNY.. i just got myself a few pairs of shorts and long pants during my last minute shopping, haha!! well, i didn't go anywhere for the 1st three days, just stay at home so just wearing normal "home clothes" only..
ReplyDeletei hit the gym till CNY eve, then rest (or rather lazy) for three days, and then back to my gym routine on the 4th day.. well, pretty good, i spent 2-hours that day working out + swim, and today 1.5-hours.. i think i'm gonna hit the gym everyday till the end of this week~~
Deleteyour two princesses are surely very good girl, and usually when girls grow up they will help with house work.. unlike boys, probably won't bother to do anything (something like me lah, hahaha)~~
Deletesweet sweet and beautiful family photo!! it's really a brilliant idea that you take a photo of the family every year during CNY, then you can compile them into the chronicles of your family, cool!! :)
DeleteAiyoh, SK is a pampered and spoilt baby at home la. Thus he doesn't need to attend to any house chores. I will train my boy to be helpful around the house, although he is quite a lazy bum. On the other hand, my daughter always like to kacau me when I'm sweeping or mopping.
DeleteWoot! No wonder I see SK becoming a hunk now in Whatsapp. Fulamak! I need to wipe my dripping saliva. Macho la!
DeleteSK, you are so toned now. Kudos to you.
I finished wearing all my CNY clothes as I have only a few. From 1st day to 4th day either I stayed at home or visited my parents, so I opt for blouse and shorts.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, the weather is so hot and hot!
You still can buy more this more.
DeleteWe broke the tradition this year. Instead of visiting relatives and friends, we went for a short trip to Ipoh from 2nd day of CNY, visiting Lost World Tambun, Gua Tempurung and Sungkai Hotspring.
ReplyDeleteOh! Really? So nice Wai Mann and Ian got to go travelling in CNY holidays.
DeleteThose dishes looked absolutely yummy! It's indeed a blessing to have someone to cook so much for us right?
ReplyDeleteAnd kudos to your hubby for the decorations, and thumbs up for your girls to help at home~
DeleteAnd I agree, it doesn't matter what your hubby wished, it's the thought that counts.
Happy belated Valentine's day Yan!
DeleteI shall see you ladies SOON! ^^
See you soon, Hayley.
DeleteI used to help my mom to cut those red papers and stick to the fruits and bottled drinks for prayers too. Now I am married, no longer doing this anymore. I am kind of missing those good old times.
ReplyDeleteI didn't enjoy doing it, because there were a lot of fruits to work on. Luckily my girls were lending me a helping hands this year.
DeleteQong Xi Fa Cai, Xin Nian Kuai Le...and Belated Valentine's Day greetings. Love forever!
ReplyDeleteThanks STP, your house CNY decors are very nice too.
DeleteHey Yan, dropping by to say Happy CNY to you and your family! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Yan, wow! One new, or two new outfits a day for the CNY 15 days. My wife since coming to Canada has never worn a new dress for the New Year, as we Canadians are much more casual than in Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteWe had a party and I noticed not one of our Malaysian, Singapore lady friends wearing a new outfit.
I guess to us the CNY feeling is not like where you are.
Unless we go to a Chinese Mall then we hear, feel the spirit of the new year....the Chinese CNY shows, lion dances going on their rounds.
I enjoyed looking thru the pics here, and thats a very nice family portrait.
By the way, how's the belated ahemmm, Valentine experience of seeing 2 moons, wake up at noon.
Ha ha ha, love your humour.
Have fun and hope you not yawning nonstop.
Lee.
you are really hardworking to go to the gym even during cny!! you really deserve the good body shape you have! and so sweet of your husband!
