If I have a day to myself

If I have an entire day all to myself, I will use 3 hours to bake from a recipe that I have bookmarked long ago. These 3 hours will include the measuring of all ingredients, whipping, mixing, baking, washing all baking gadgets after used and also cleaning up the kitchen.

As I won't have the luxury for an entire free day to myself, I always bake when my girls are occupied with tuitions.

My first attempt of huat kuih that I planned to bake more when Cheng Beng. Recipe was taken from here.
Then, I will like to spend another 3 hours in the gym. These 3 hours include travelling to and from the gym, changing before working out, and bathing after working out. I will run at 7km/h for an hour on treadmill, I will ride 30 minutes on orbitrek , and i like to have another 30 minutes on weight machines and lifting weight.
I also don't  have the luxury of 3 entire hours to spend in working out. The most I have now is only 1.5 to 2 hours. So I need to cut short the time by skipping one or two machines in my fitness routine.
Sweating out in the gym always make me feel happy and good. Exercise can also allow me to indulge in my own baking without feeling guilty of the calories.

If there is still time permitted, I will like to have an hour TV, an hour reading, an hour shopping and an hour beauty nap.

I usually can't do all these in a single day. If I go to gym, I must forego baking, and vice versa.
If I watch TV and go shopping, I have to postpone reading and napping to another day, and vice versa. So, that's my life.

    1. oh, you include the traveling time also?? haha, then maybe 3 hours is reasonable lah.. 1 hour on treadmill, OMG, i will faint.. i just do brisk walking at 6.5km/h for 20-25min each time only.. i cannot run lah, cos later my ankle will hurt..

    3. If whole 3 hours at the gym, too long lah.

Rather than spend that much time on easy routines, you can try HIIT sessions - short workouts but intense ones to reap more benefits, for both strength and endurance. Mix and match short, hard sessions with long easy ones.

But that's just me la... ^^

    1. I agree with angeline, 24 hours a day is not enough. I'm spending more than 10 hours working, 8 hours for sleeping and the rest is for my family.

  14. Baking requires a lot of my time, like Yannie said, 3 hours for the 1st step to the cleaning process.

    1. I schedule my baking session on Sundays only. Saturday is cleaning day.

And on weekdays, I need the time to coach my kids on their study.

  18. Pure 2 hours of aerobic activities, no wonder you are in great shape. I just sign up for a gym too (part of my 2013 resolution). After some weeks there, I kind of like it. Exercising is really a good way to wind down and de-stress.

  24. I agree that gym exercises could uplift our mood and spirits. I always felt happier, lighter and elated after a hot shower in the gym. When my days are bad, I must go to a gym or at least a massage or both! After that, I will arrive in heavens!

  25. Actually we know that your daily duties and role is more than this. You will be blessed with good returns when your kids have grown up. You give them the best!

  26. Suddenly I asked myself if I do have 3 hours in the gym???? I realised the closest Fitness First is just 15 mins drive away from home, so I could finish running and driving in less than 2.5 hours but I am famous for talking so much inside the gym! Bah!

  27. How we wish we have got more time :D. I always wish to have 48 hours a day that would allow us extra time to plan what we want to do..definitely to have longer sleeping hours, more time for relaxing and family time, extra time for hobbies and exercise. That would be good right?

  28. I salah read your post as "I also don't have the luxury of 3 entire hours to spend in making out" and I was like, "WAH!! You need THREE hours to make out with your hubs ah??!" and then I put on my spec and saw that it was 'working out' instead of 'making out' .. pfft...

    haha!
