Ironing on weekends

I only do my ironing on weekends. Unless I am out of town on weekends, otherwise I will do ironing once a week only either on Saturday or Sunday.

I need to iron my working uniforms and my girls' school uniforms. Luckily I don't need to iron my husband's working uniforms. He wears company T-Shirt to work. May be he doesn't want me to iron so many clothes, that is why he wearing company T-Shirt everyday. Muacks!

Altogether I need to iron at least 20 pieces at one go.
Last Sunday, I was home alone doing ironing from 8.10pm to 9.30pm. Do I consider fast in my ironing job?
Under this scorching hot weather, I sweat like I have just done my 6km/h jog when I have done with the ironing. I think I burned quite a lot of calories by standing for more than an hour and moving my right arm on the ironing board.

Are you folks also an Iron Man or Iron Lady on weekends?

  4. I only have to iron the boy's uniform while hubby irons his himself. I think I can retire as Iron Lady next year as the boy has agreed to take over the role as iron man by then. Hahaha...

  5. I love to iron clothes while watching TV in front. My wife dislikes ironing and felt sorry to see me doing chores. I am happy to do groceries, ironing and cleaning the house. Now she got a maid to do them! Anay releks la....

  7. Hi Yan, if I do ironing once a week, I die standing cos it'll be at least 100 pieces of clothes. LOL I have to do my ironing alternate day. :(

  8. I hate ironing and it is the only one chore that I don't do haha. I can mop the floor 10 times a day and not complain but I just won't touch the iron. Poor hubby irons his own working shirts and Chloe's uniform (her summer shirts).

  9. You spent an hour plus to iron 20 pieces of clothes? Hmm I can't tell whether it's fast or slow, but since you have the time, can do it slowly la~

I seldom do ironing ever since I resigned, hehe, hubby and I wear clothes which the material are 'iron-free' ;)

    2. actually if you want to save time, just wear a cardigan outside your uniforms lah, same case to your princesses, then i think you can get your ironing "done" in less than 20 minutes~~ :D

    1. i am planning to buy a handheld steam iron.. you hang your clothes on a rack, and then hold the iron to brush and iron your clothes, no need to lay them flat on the ironing board.. i think this will save a lot of time..

    2. because i iron the front and back of my clothes separately, not together if you know what i mean.. maybe that is what taking up my time..

  14. I used to iron my kids' school uniform and my work clothes. But not anymore. My kids iron their own clothes and I don't work in school anymore, so no ironing for myself. :)

  15. I don't do ironing on weekend, but if I do it will be one or two pieces using steam iron.

I only iron hubby's working attires on weekday, from 4 to 5 pairs (shirts and pants) and it will take about an hour. Phew! I hate ironing because of the heat!

    2. 1 hour and 20 minutes for 20 pieces, not a bad record :D

    3. Yannie was really fast. I counted my record and I would take at least 2 hours. I am very smart to buy some dresses for Letchumi that requires no ironing!

  21. I used to go topless whenever I ironed my clothes, with the fan blowing at me haha! I hate ironing and my hubby's very particular with his clothes. So I never iron his clothes anymore. Either the part time maid does it or laundry shop.
