Pop Yeh Yeh night

I was in Putrajaya, KL with famly on 30 May till 2 June. We were there for my husband's company  Sport Carnival . This time, the organizer encouraged spouses to take part in the event. I left with no option, but to join netball and badminton games. This was my first time playing netball in my entire life, and I have forgotten how to hold a badminton racket.

Never mind, forget about the games. My girls were more excited at the Pop Yeh Yeh theme dinner.  I was initially very reluctant to dress them and myself up for the theme, because I knew the organizer (KL headquarter) sure knew better what to wear than any other branches. We sure had no chance to win.

On second thought, we might as well have fun and dress for the theme, than bored ourselves to max throughout the night.

I discussed with Yvonne in the office.  I have to thank her for borrowing me some accessories to mix and match with my girls' outfits.
May was wearing her last year concert dance costume. I found it very colourful though it wasn't really the 60's fashion of Pop Yeh Yeh.

I got April a purple sunglasses from Alamanda Shopping Mall on the day before the dinner.  Meaning, I only invested RM9 for the Pop Yeh Yeh theme. Polkadot is the trend of 60s fashion.

As for myself, little black dress with yellow round earrings, yellow beads necklace, gold belt, turquoise bangles , turquoise leggings.

Aiyoyo, I should have styled my hair by combing all up and tying it with a red scarf.  My hair style was way to simple for the Pop Yeh Yeh night.

We registered ourselves at the front desk, but only April appeared to have more confident to win.  I kept reminding her to prepare for the lost. I didn't want her to get too disappointed, just in case she didn't win.

The dinner was officially started when the live band and singers got up on to  stage to perform all "60an lagu-lagu pop".

The most anticipating program, children category best dress for Pop Yeh Yeh theme. April was the number 3 winner. She was so happy.
The adult category best dress winners.  I would say adult category winners were much better than children category winners. As expected, Yan and May lose in contest. T___T

April got RM150 AEON vouchers. She later spent all on Papa's checker shirt RM70 from Camel,  Mam's pajamas RM30 , May's shirt and pants RM 25 and also her own shirt and pants RM 25.
Though our family didn't contribute any medal , Perak branch still emerged as the overall champion in year 2013 Sport Carnival. Bravo!.

During this 4D3N stay at Hotel Residence Uniten, I didn't travel out of Putrajaya. I only went shopping at Alamanda once.

Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the sport carnival, the Pop Yeh Yeh dinner, travel around Putrajaya and our stay in the Hotel Residence to its fullest.

    1. SK Thambee you were not born yet la. Pop Yeh Yeh was popular during P Ramlee shows on TV. They all rode Vespa scooters and went picnic by the sea. They danced and danced plus held hands to watch sunsets.

    3. Cannot blame SK la! I also did a lot of google then only know what to wear for this Pop Yeh Yeh theme. I wonder whether the organizer did any study like me.

  3. hahhaha, back to the Pop Yeh Yeh.. i actually think April looked very nice with her outfit and also that hairdo.. the polka dots surely added marks for her, but she just got 3rd place?? or there was no ranking among the winners?? i think May actually looked the best among the winners lah, so sharp and outstanding and so 60s compared to the others..

    4. Anay and SK, high 5 to both of you. I also scolded the judge the whole night. If the other girls could be the winner, my lil May could win too. Right? They were not only drunk, and blind too.

  4. May was a little too plain lah, and actually looked like cheerleaders more than 60s look.. and yah!! now you mentioned you should have your hair done.. no wonder i just felt like something missing in your outfit that night!! probably an Afro wig and hairdo like April will make you look more glamorous, agree?? anyway, April won something and i think that's good enough~~ :)

    1. SK, you are damn clever one. Actually May's costume is made for her concert and her dance song is Pom Pom girl.

I just invested in a pair of sunglasses on April, and she won RM150. We could consider as big win already.

    2. Cangratulations to April and congratulation to May for being such a good girl though she did not win any.

    3. Meow, you are damn clever la! You said exactly all in my mind for the night. If the pink sisters could be the winner, why not May? May wore better than them. They were just wearing peplum tops and pants. Nothing close to the theme. So as the girl stood next to April. The judge was just plain bias and stupid.
