2013 drawing contest (actual result)

I would to thank to all of your input and comment. It means a lot to my two daughters. I personally love their drawings very much. They are my champions, regardless the position that they got from the judging of their school teachers. When I took these pictures, I have told my daughters that I wanted to publish in my blog. The judging from my different readers can be varied and also can be the same as their school teachers. The important thing, we can hear different opinion from all of your very constructive input. I sincerely appreciated your comments.

I agree with many of you, “Art has no rules and the limit is beyond the skies!”. I told my daughters the same thing too, especially my Standard 3, April. She has been remained at the position number 2 since Primary 1. The same boy in her class was still retaining the position number 1. He is the champion from Primary 1 till Primary 3.

Thanks to those who acknowledged Picture B and Picture Z. Picture B is May’s drawing. Picture Z is April’s drawing. They both are first runner up in their own category.

  1. Mine's the same as the final result for Primary...but for Primary 1, it's quite the opposite - mine was B, A, C. I thought C's not as good and yet, it got 1st. Hmmmm!!!!

  2. Haha..My guess bingo for Primary 3. As for Primary 1, I am totally out. :)

  3. hmmm, my guess didn't match quite well with the judges teachers opinions huh?? but seems like i have ranked both April and May's work as #1 for both categories.. never mind lah, they both are QUEEN OF HEART, the people's choice~~ :)

  4. anyway, like you have said, art is quite subjective and personal.. it's all about creator's imagination as well as how well the receiver can actually link the same frequency, hehe~~ both girls really did well and they definitely deserved their Happy Meals~~ :)

    1. I did say all were painted beautifully in their own ways but I am confident of myself as a good judge where Art is concerned after being in this line for a long time. (I blow my trumpet again so loud! I am just being frank ok)

Now your real results made me think deeper about the Art teachers today. I think some may need to get their eyes tested for colour blinds besides sending them to Anay for advanced Art lessons in the subject called "Art Appreciation". This weird subject exists and I had to learn it for 6 months!!!! I will phiak the heads of whoever that judged April and May's paintings in school.

    2. I must admit that the new generations today can paint well and better than during Anay's era when we had hardly had Art reference books and internet to browse. The kids today start drawing and painting earlier as well which is actually excellent for brain development.

    1. Btw, can I get some advise from you. What you daughter learn from her art class was it she had to draw a picture given to her by the teacher or she can draw creatively without any guidelines? My boy's current art class allow them to draw whatever they want but ended up, my boy did not learn how to draw many things. I wanted to change his art school to those which teacher will give them a picture for them to draw. Eg, dolphin, bears, clown...but not sure which is better....
