Ladies maxi dress night

Weeks ago, I attended Ladies Maxi Dress Nite which was held at a club in Ipoh. I registered myself just a couple of days before the event. It was on a weekday, it was on my daughter’s UPSR exam date, it was on my Zumba lesson day, and it was no close friend attending. Therefore I was a bit hesitated whether I should attend on my own.

I made up my mind to attend finally when I had got the support from my husband. All registered members would have free coach to chauffeur us from Taiping to Ipoh, free flow of drinks and buffet dinner.  Besides I had got a maxi dress ready in my wardrobe.  First and foremost, I know that I would have no problem to meet some new friends there. My curiosity made me want to see how well I was able to carry myself in a totally new environment with many new faces.

I was lucky enough to get to know a lady the minute I stepped on the coach. She invited me to sit next to her as she was also alone that trip. She is a friendly lady. During the journey, she told me that she was an ex-nurse. Apparently her husband is a doctor and also the vice president of the club. I am so lucky to know her, as she shared with me so many things about the function and the club. She is very humble and down to earth. We had no barrier keeping each other company at the event. We both won ourselves a prizes too from taking part in the games.

Because of her help, I could leave the function earlier in her friend’s car, otherwise I might need to wait till very late and return home by the coach.

After the night, I had a few new contacts in my phone, one new wechat group, several new FB friends and many beautiful pictures.
Since I was not familiar with anyone there, I needed to selfie in toilet to snap a picture of  myself.

The lady in red is the friend that I mentioned here.

  1. Very nice, very formal. But the people at the bar were all so casually dressed. Others, I guess.

I always remind my wife very-very-very often that friends are very important for everyone in life. With the right friends, they can bring us happiness, share new ideas and even render moral support to us along our journey. Many tabloids reported that dying patients often regretted that they had no friends or didn't bothered to value all their friends.

    1. Anay, cheapo Yannie was there for free food and drinks, prizes and entertainment. Free transport and ready costume made me go for the function. My curiousity wanted to see how well Yannie could adapt to new environment and unfamiliar people.

Thanks Anay for the valuable input.
