First on scene

Today, I would love to share a short film that I act as the only female role. It was a short film for a local filming contest. I was actually recommended by a male colleague to his friend, R. Chan.

My colleague passed me a script and asked me to feedback to him my interest in the character and the film shooting. After confirming with him on the venue and the date that the shooting would take place. I accepted the role of playing as a devious and scheming character.

I have just got the link on YouTube from Chan recently. I forwarded to my university mates chat group, one of them screenshot the following scene for me as memory.

I wanted to thank my colleague Allen for introducing me to his friend Chan. I want to thank Chan for his patient in guiding me to act. Of course, I want to thank my hubby for encouraging me to try.

Those involved behind the scene are all young men graduated from UTAR. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to work with them, they make me feel young and they make my childhood dream comes true in 2017. lol!
I always love acting. Though it is just a short film, I enjoy every single take in the shooting.  Well, you guys can have a look at the link below.

    1. STP, this time I really took it as a chance for me to see my ability to act. I do it for fun and for my interest. That is all. It is very far away from being a star. Hahahah! Thanks Sir.

    1. Yes, my real voice. Thanks Libby. Good to know from you who never meet me in person to judge me only base on my acting in the short film.

Those who know me may not like the way I act and find me very unnatural. Hahahah!

  7. Muahahaha! You acted very well Yannie. Honestly you acted better than the 3 other guys not because I know you well. You could fake out that Vixen look so well when it is not your real soft & kind character. I hope Zhang Yimou would see this clip and hire you with tough roles like that Empress Dowager Cixi. Maybe team up with Bosco or Huang Xiao Ming. Wakakakaka
I could understand your hobby and interest to act and this has happened! Just last week, my local actor friend Fai Chen asked me whether I had intentions to appear in films again. I realised I have lost the desire. If only the 90s had YouTubes, I could share mine to make all dentures fall off. Good luck to your 2018.

    1. Anay, thanks for kind words and compliments. Seriously, I know I still need to improve more. My daughters didn't like my first few scenes, only the last scene that I showed my true color on face got their admire.

Anay also acted in film before, then please go digging out the video clip and download it to youtube.

    2. If you recall how I landed on the screens was accidental. When I arrived in KL from States, most big ad agencies didn't want to hire me cos I had no film or post production background which made me sad. Then I bumped into a couple friend who were busy filming and I bodek them to help them for free doing errands only so that I could observe. The lady boss was alone as the film director and had headaches to decide whether the shots and angles were OK?? I chipped in my comments always and ended up being paid as part assistant producer. In the end several lead actors or extras often didn't show up or backed out last minute and drove the couple nuts. I became a stand in or substitute to save the scene. In the end they found me to be natural and no need coaching so my photo was always in the album for clients to pick. That's how I appeared in government documentary that ran nightly over TV2 for 3 years to create "No Smoking" campaign besides Putrajaya corporate video and short advertisements like NuSkin and blah blah. The money was peanuts but the valuable experience got me being head hunted by the HKG agency owned by singer Eric Kot Man Fai. End of story....

I am a good critic today for films on their technical, props and angles. I can give you my honest lengthy comments on your short video here or pm.

You should start using your phone to film yourself like a hostess to speak any topic with your kids & Jino for family fun. This way will give you lots of practice and someday can show it as testimonial review to talent scouts. You have very good potential which your height is the best plus point which cannot be changed while acting, looks and appearance can be enhanced.

    3. Anay is always so kind in sharing information and thoughts with Yannie. I believe that Anay is a very natural actor, hahaha! May be this video is my first and also my last, no one knows. I don't mind doing it again, as it is so fun.
